The Northern Virginia B Team League is a unique entity for competitive golf, we don’t know of anything comparable, anywhere. It is designed to allow the mid-range (5 – 15 handicaps) golfer an environment of highly competitive golf in a match play format. The match format is two-man teams competing against our opponent’s two-man team. There are three match at home and three matches away. Scoring is one point per hole won and one-half point for holes halved. With the six matches there are 108 points available for every match. It takes 54.5 points for a win. League standings are based on won-lost record with 2 points for a win and 1 point for a tie. The second place team in each division is the team with the most total match points. After each match, we retreat to the clubhouse to enjoy food and beverage and the camaraderie of our opponents. Each team plays an 8 match schedule from April through August. Eight teams qualify for the playoffs with the honor of becoming league champions. The league consists of the following twenty private clubs in the Northern Virginia area: Army-Navy, Belle Haven, Belmont, Chantilly, Dominion Valley, Evergreen, Fairfax, Heritage Hunt, Hidden Creek, International, Lansdowne, Mount Vernon, Piedmont, River Bend, River Creek, Springfield, Stoneleigh, Trump National, Washington Golf, and Westwood.
