2010 League Standings thru 7/7 (PDF Format)
General Information
- This league is run soley for the enjoyment of PMGA members. It is an open format and play is on an individual handicapped basis, with no pre-registration or number of weeks required.
- League play occurs every Wednesday between April and August and all members are welcome to show up at the first tee for a great evening, whenever they might be available, whether they can play once or twenty times throughout the summer.
- Start time is 5:00 pm through April and 5:30 pm for May - August.
- Those members that participate at least 6 times are eligible to qualify for the year-end shootout, with a total cash purse in excess of $2000 (previous Prize Pools have been up to $2500 to the top 5 finishers)!
- The cost to participate each week is $20 - which includes the $5 Birdie pool - and prizes are paid out at the conclusion of play.
Nightly Scoring
- Scoring is based on a quota Stabelford system. Each player has a nightly quota based on his individual handicap. The quota=Player's home (blue tee) handicap subtracted from 36 divided by 2. For example, if your home handicap (Monthly Home Handicap)=10, 36-10 = 26 divided by 2 makes your quota 13.
- Points are awarded for each hole based on the players gross score as follows: Double Bogey or worse = -1, Bogey = 1, Par = 2, Birdie = 3, Eagle = 4, Double Eagle = 8.
- Each player's finish is determined by the net of his Stableford points vs. his quota. For example, if you score 15 Stableford points and your quota is 13, your net is +2.
- Highest net for the night takes the first prize money, next best second, and 3rd best third.
Weekly Prize Money
- $20 entry fee each week, which includes the $5 Birdie pool.
- Two-thirds of the entry fees collected are paid out to 1st/2nd/3rd and ties for that night. The other one-third goes to the PMGA to cover prizes at the season-ending shootout.
- First place pays 60% of the nightly payout pool, second place pays 30%, third place pays 10%; ties are apportioned accordingly.
League Standings
-
Standings are maintained on an on-going basis, based on the cumulative of a player's BEST 6 SCORES.
- Note that if you fall short of your quota, negative net IS included in your total.
- Your must participate in a minimum of six events AND be in the top 25 in the standings in order to be eligible for the season-ending shootout.
Note: Please record your stroke score for each hole, as well as your Stableford score. The Pro Shop will be assisting us in ensuring that your 9-hole scores are entered into your scoring record in the VSGA handicap system.
